Overview

The Director of DC Ops oversees and manages the overall operations of the Distribution Center, including all team members, inventory and equipment. The Director of DC Ops is responsible for ensuring all work is performed in an efficient, profitable, safe and productive manner, and in adherence to company policies, local, state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible and accountable for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the Distribution Center.
  • Lead, coach and develop the team to foster an environment of proactive team member relations and to maintain a highly motivated work force with fully engaged team members.
  • Manage and monitor all safety procedures and ensure that all team members foster a safe environment.
  • Develop goals and objectives for the team to manage team member performances.
  • Manage and communicate production issues with the managers within the Distribution Center.
  • Review production reports and communicate results to team members, managers within the Distribution Center, and senior leadership.
  • Protect company assets by enacting adequate security measures.
  • Manage expenses and payroll against budget.
  • Negotiate and administer labor contracts.
  • Establish and maintain an environment where team members develop their maximum potential through timely assessments of performance, identification of skill development needs and development activities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

  • Extremely motivated with creative ideas.

 

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Eligible to work in the Unites States.
  • At least 5 years of prior leadership in a fast pace, piece picking distribution/fulfillment operation.
  • Knowledge of AS/400 and all aspects of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays when needed.

 

Ideal Candidates

  • Comfortable with all aspects of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Extremely organized and demonstrates the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Have excellent multitasking ability and demonstrated self-starter.
  • Willingness to continue to evolve and develop personal skills to meet the changing environment.
  • Has a general knowledge about all aspects of the Distribution Center.
  • Bilingual - English/ Spanish is a plus.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, P&L, and financial reporting is a plus.
  • Experience implementing new WMS, automation, or SOPs is a plus.

 

Education

  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses

  • Willing to get powered equipment certification.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range

USD $135,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
